Sébastien Thiéry

After being trained at the Cours Florent and at the Conservatoire Supérieur d’Art Dramatique in Paris, Sébastien Thiéry plays in different movies directed by Bertrand Tavernier, Gérard Jugnot, Alain Chabat, Jean-Michel Ribes, and in TV films directed by Josée Dayan, Laurent Heynemann, Philippe Béranger and Denys Granier-Deferre.

At the age of 30, he starts to write for the theatre. His first play, Sans ascenseur, is directed by Jean-Michel Ribes at the Théâtre du Rond-Point in 2005. Sébastien Thiéry performs in his own play, as in most of the following ones. Then comes La Fâche, directed by Gilles Cohen, at Théâtre du Rond-Point, in 2005 and Dieu habite Düsseldorf, at Théâtre des Mathurins under the direction of Christophe Lidon, in 2006.

He is the author of three hundred episodes for the serie broadcasted on Canal+ Chez maman, in which he is also an actor. Alongside, he makes hidden cameras : La Vie de Sébastien Thiéry.

In 2007, he comes back to the theatre, writing Piggy Bank, directed by Anne Bourgeois at Théâre Hébertot. The play is rewarded by the Prix Barrière in 2008 et two Molières in 2009 (Best actor and Best Comedy). In 2009 Who is Mr. Schmitt? is directed at Théâtre de la Madeleine by José Paul, with Richard Berry in the leading role. Two years later, the same Richard Berry directs and performs The beginning of the end at the Théâtre des Variétés with Jonathan Lambert, while Sébastien Thiéry, who remains an actor, plays in Courteline, Amour noir, directed by Jean-Louis Benoit at Théâtre de la Commune, and on tour. In 2012, Bernard Murat directs Falling from the trees (Comme s’il en pleuvait) at Théâtre Edouard VII, with Pierre Arditi and Evelyne Buyle in the leading parts.

Sébastien Thiéry is back on stage in L’Origine du Monde in september 2013 at Théâtre du Rond-Point, directed by Jean-Michel Ribes.

Two Stark Naked Men has been produced at Théâtre de la Madeleine in September 2014 directed by Ladislas Chollat that is also directing in Septembre 2015 Sébastien Thiéry’s play Momo at Théâtre de Paris.

Ramses II, created in 2017, starring François Berléand, Eric Elmosnino and Evelyne Buyle was directed by Stéphane Hillel, as well as Eight euros an hour at Théâtre Antoine. In 2022 premiered Demain la revanche at Théâtre Antoine. On stage in 2023, Check up and Cirque d’hiver.
